Looking at Island Academy Student Work at this site should help researchers, teachers, and the students themselves. Educational researchers and others interested in the state of public education will have the opportunity to look at actual student work and not simply a grade, statistic, or label. Teachers can look at student work in areas other than their specialty and gain a more comprehensive view of their students' capabilities. Since all Island Academy students are transient the work that is posted allows the students to demonstrate their achievements to their new teachers when they are transferred to other schools and the opportunity in the future to retrieve their own work.
